POSTED: 7:17 am PST November 27, 2006
Solano County law enforcement agencies will begin their winter holiday "Avoid the 10 Solano" DUI crackdown next month.
The Solano County Traffic Enforcement Task Force recently completed an enforcement effort. There was one arrest for driving under the influence, four other non-DUI arrests and 28 hazardous citations. Five vehicles were towed.
The California Highway Patrol, Solano County Sheriff's Office and the Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Solano College, Suisun, Vacaville and Vallejo police departments will participate in the 18-day saturation patrols and checkpoints starting Dec. 15.
Other law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area will participate in the "Avoid" campaigns that are financed with grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
